Family Logos and Free Monograms

Greetings from here in monogram land. I know what you are all thinking, two posts in two days Brianna you must be crazy. Well you might be right. My computer has sucked me and I am practically unable to pry myself away from playing in photoshop. I blame it on the crappy weather we have been having. It is not supposed to rain this many days in a row in California. It is feeling particularly Pacific Northwestish around here.

So I have been thinking a lot about family logos or family monograms. It could be that my hubby and I may have just had the kid talk and it has put me into the family mood. Whatever it was it has gotten me to thinking about the family logo. Back in the day my grandparents had some drinking glasses etched with what they called our coat of arms. Now I'm not really sure that this is anything official but it was always really nice to drink out of. As I kid I always felt special to have the family cup.

I don't think that many families would go this route. I doubt most people know what their coat of arms are, what the various symbols mean or even how to go about getting them. Not to mention they can look a little antiquated.

So this got me thinking about the family logo or family monogram. This to me is a great way to add some personality to your life. Just like an engaged couple wants to proudly display their names/initials together to symbolize their lives coming together in marriage, so too can you display your families names together. There are lots of different ways to use your family logo/family monogram. You could create return address labels, holiday cards, wall decals, letterhead, scrap-booking pages, etc. Heck I have even seen some people create family cards with their monograms. The sky is the limit.

I'm working on some tutorials and other creative ways you might use these monograms. For now I will leave you with an example:

Here are some more free monograms:
